What is Black Flag Gym?
Black Flag Gym is a family owned personal training based gym. The owners built the concept around providing expert level strength training and science based programming, in a classic open air strength camp environment. While we pride ourselves on providing the apex of personal training service on Johns Island, we also offer small group bootcamp classes, nutrition consultation, weight loss, and most recently physical therapy.
The Gym

We outfitted this unique and colorful space with the cornerstone equipment required to build strength, lose weight, build speed, or whatever your performance goal encompasses. When entering, the first thing people notice is our “bare bones” approach to fitness. No treadmills. No fancy cable machines. No fads or frill.
Free weights are the undisputed backbone to any fitness program. Anyone telling you contrary is leading you astray. We built the entire gym using tried and true equipment proven to give the best results. This can include barbells, dumbbells, bands, balance tools, medicine balls, sleds, sledgehammers, tires, etc.
Is Black Flag Right for me?
The biggest barrier to a lot of first time gym goers is being intimidated. There is a stigma surrounding garage gyms, that you have to be “hardcore” to be a member. This stigma was cemented mostly thanks to a certain commercial chain of garage gyms…
At Black Flag we believe that anyone can be “hardcore”. If you want to achieve goals, you must have a certain drive. Without it, you won’t ever achieve your fitness goals, whether it is losing 10lbs and feeling healthier or deadlifting 500lbs. We have clients of ALL levels, and love working with every one of them. The one thing they have in common? They have the drive. They are consistent. They understand that hard work is the only road to success.

Our bootcamps are made to be scalable to all levels whether you are a fitness expert, or a first time bootcamper!
Open Gym / Vacation PAss
We offer a limited number of Open Gym memberships to experienced lifters. We also offer day passes for those on vacation for both classes and open gym.
